Evening all,

Thought i would let other people know about this as its the second time its happened to me. Both occasions its been late evening when parking in Tesco at Chesterfield. The button on the key fob just stopped working when in the car park, meaning the car would not lock when pressing the button. (The key fob works fine when not in the car park)

The first time it happened i thought it was the battery so i went to the Timpsons key shop upstairs where they checked and the battery is fine and the signal was good.

The problem seems intermittent and only occurs when the local boy racers are parked up there. I also found this when searching for a reason as to why this could happen;

Fire station used to do it to mine.

 

They are relatively expensive, so I'm surprised that they are used in a local Tesco. Normally used in more expensive quieter residential streets where you are likely to have more valuable stuff in your car.

Perhaps in Tescos you are less likely to be noticed just opening a car door?
