Lone Survivor - Has to be the best movie this year!
Just finished watching a new movie called 'Lone Survivor'
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1091191/
Not due for release until Jan 31st but it's about if you know what I mean
If you get chance to watch it then do it - Best movie I have seen in a while and I am sure the best I will see for a while.

Not bad as not the usual hollywood cliche. Not the films fault as depicting what actualky happened - but why didnt they just take the 3 herders with them and release when further away? Also do special forces not have GPS trackers so their OPS team can track them?

Fair point and easy to criticise when not their. They also assumed their comms would work which you would hope for in modern times.
I felt quite emotional watching the end with all the guys who lost their lives. I like the fact they put those in the Chinook up first.
I am intrigued to read Marcus's book - but which version to buy as dozens on amazon?
I know the US forces get a bad rap about being a bit gun ho but a couple of years back on honeymoon we met and made friends with a young couple from Minnesota also honeymooning. He was just 23 and a SEAL. Never met such a genuine couple and what blew me away was just his knowledge of the world from astronomy to UK politics for someone so young. He was also a great swimmer funnily enough so I struggled to keep up with him whilst snorkelling in the south pacific
