I was in my truck on the M6 southbound just after Keele services sat in stationary traffic due to the motorway being closed.After approx. 1hour or so I decided to jump out and have a pee against the nearside wheel.
I went to jump back in my truck.........The door had locked itself
So there am I locked out in the wind and rain with only trousers and polo shirt on,it was freezing!Luckily the fella behind let me use his phone to ring my boss who then rang Volvo assistance.There is me stood by my truck freezing my nuts off,another trucker asked what was the problem as he crawled by gave me a hi-viz jacket to help keep warm,a godsend.
After another hour the highways agency turned up,a warm 4x4 for me to sit in.By this time I couldn't stop shaking from the cold.Three hours from when this nightmare began the Volvo fitter turned up with the aid of two long screwdrivers he had the door open in 3 or 4 minutes.
The nightmare was over.
My wife thought it was hilarious as I was mentioned on teletext...fame at last.

Haha a few the continental guys I know have those security doors locks fitted on the outside,amount of times some of them have got out the cab and forgot to take the doors locks off,ops locked out..now they hide a spare key outside on the truck just in case.
