Question Offered a permanent job :-)

After the longest interview EVER. I have been offered a permanent job
It means taking a pay cut as I'll switch from being a scummy contractor to impoverished permy.

Despite that little detail I think it is only fitting to treat myself to a little gift.

I'm thinking about two things.

1. New radio for the Scooby
2. Repairing broken front and rear bumpers (Aftermarket)

So, questions to put out there.

Regarding DAB radio. Is Pioneer DEH-X8500DAB any good? Any alternate suggestions?

Anyone know a decent bodyshop in Hertfordshire that can repair bumpers that have been essentially chopped off at the bottom?

Cheers

Mark

The pioneer stuff is some of the best stuff out there. Can certainly recommend the F900 bt and F940 bt head unit's.

Pioneer and alpine are very good. Or check out the new stuff Kenwood are doing.

I know when I fitted the DAB radio to my van I had to fit and pay seperately for a external ariel which didnt look too good with a wire running across my roof.

Apart from that the DAB was ace, Absolute 80s FTW!!!

Typical Scoobynet - straight into the car stuff

More importantly, congratulations on your new job. Hope it provides the stability and future developments Well Done.

ICE-wise, yeh, gotta say I'm a big Pioneer fan. I've always liked their stereos.
DAB is what it is tbh. Personally, I rarely listen to the radio now - ipod all the way.

Sounds like you need some serious rebuilding/repairs to the bumpers Nothing to add here as I'm nowhere near Hertfordshire.
Good luck with it
