Storm of the year here last night.
Electrical storm hit around 11pm, just after I'd gone up....so had to come down and unplug all the phone and router, plus isolate all sockets with computer and TV equipment plugged in.
Our leccy comes in overhead.......
It stormed and hailed for around an hour, faded away to the NE, only for a second one to hit within half an hour.
I could barely see out of the window, it was like snow, went down and there's four INCHES of hail on the ground!
Had some leaks in the older roof, but nowt a bucket or six didn't stop.
The lightning was so constant you could seriously read by it. Never seen one like it.

Yup we had the same in the NW, it was a fair old storm.
I was outside in the side street fitting my headlights (garage lighting not great) when upon installing the 2nd light I heard a rumble, sky went quickly black, and a little trickle of rain, then nothing. The sky cleared so I cracked on with the hella horns when I typically got to the wiring and BOOM, the heavens opened and the sky went golden . Needless to say I hurried all my tools into the shed, and within minutes I was absolutely sodden, it really did come down didn't it!
Roof survived, but like yourself noticed a few patches appear, but no bucket required, roofer called this morning to attend tomorrow to look at my chimney flashing

Ours hit about 5pm here - unfortunately our rugby match had just finished and we were all stuck in the clubhouse getting pissed - couldn't possibly make it home in that weather.....
