Default Phone was dead this morning....

...and refused to switch on again.
I removed battery and SIM card, cleaned contacts on both, replaced them and it's working now.

What's that all about?

Remember those big box TVs we had before flat screens came out? Whenever mine froze in the Old Chapel, I just gave it a damn good kicking, and then Trevor McDonald started to tell the news again on it.

Shame that these days these gadgets need too much pampering to get them to work again.

Modern phones are computers in svelte little packages. Fill up the memory or similar (usually done by dodgy software not by photos/e-mails etc) and they'll stop working. Without the "benefit" of a BSOD or similar.

By taking time removing power and cleaning contacts you've done a "hard reset" on it.
