Just out of curiosity, what would,
A BL worker have earned a week back in 1982 ?. Just seen an old episode of "bullseye". And they had a BL worker who seemed to be over the moon winning £150.

"Great, super, smashing".
It's worth noting that the questions on Bullseye were not easy, and once you got to the £100 level, they were actually pretty difficult. And it's also interesting that many of the contestants worked in proper manufacturing industries and generally had a pretty good level of knowledge (and Crimplene....)
What I still love about it is the genuine delight of both Jim Bowen and Tony Green when the finalists actually won, for example, a speedboat to take back home to Barnsley.
I saw one episode last year where the two chaps won all nine prizes from the prize board and then the main prize as well. That took some doing.
"We've had a great day Jim, we'll take t' money."
Mind you, anyone who's seen the outtakes from 'Phoenix Nights' will chuckle every time they see Jim Bowen.

I remember the top prize being a brand new 1.2 saloon Nova or a caravan and usually the "darts player" was worse than the "non-darts player" at darts !!

Looking back...things were s**t back then. But life seemed better?
For example, you wouldn't dare leave a XR3 parked in a Birmingham NCP car park as it would be nicked (or someone would nick the PYE radio). Everything was shut on a sunday. Pubs had PVC floor tiles that were so sticky you'd struggle to walk without leaving your shoes behind. Women had perms, men had bigger perms. And my mum used to dress me in corduroy trousers

.i actually can't believe my parents letting me watch benny hill looking back.imagine if that were still on today,it would probably get an 18 rating...
