Cycling Insurance
Do you have insurance? I cycle to work most days and try to go off road on weekends. I'm just wondering what happens if I crash on the road in to a car, even if its no fault of mine, who pays for damage and things like that?
I'm more worried about having a bad crash and not working = no pay.
Any advise/help is appreciated.

CTC membership includes 3rd party cover - £41 for individual membership for a year.
British Cycling Ride membership also includes 3rd party cover for £28/year. £66/year for Gold Membership gets personal accident
Google turned up SportsDirect and clicking through came up with a price of £100/year for a policy which would pay £250 a week for loss of earnings
If you want to guard against claims made by others for any accidental damage caused by you or your cycle, you may want to consider CTC's Third Party insurance.
CTC members are automatically covered up to £10 million by this policy, including using cycles for business use. But note that you are NOT covered if you are specifically employed as a cyclist, for example as a bike messenger.

Included with our Race Gold membership, this is a particular kind of insurance cover that provides cash payments if you are hospitalised overnight. Lump sum payments are also provided for death and permanent disability but loss of earnings and medical expenses are not covered under this policy.

If not are you not entitled to sick leave and how long?
You are asking a very interesting question, I wonder if there are any companies offering this.
