Default Info on breaking car

Just wanted to know what's the procedure with dvla v5 if I'm breaking a car that's otr ATM legit.
It's insured, taxed and mot'd etc.
Do I fill in part of the v5 as scrapped etc?
Also how do I claim road tax money back that's left?
Thanks

Print a form off the DVLA website for the tax. You won't want to send it in as scrapped unless your gona scrap the shell you will sell the shell and sign the v5 over to the new owner.

Ah right I get it, the shell I pass on to new owner as if I'm selling car, or only if scrapping shell then fill in v5 as scrapped.

Thanks
