I can sometimes do two/three weeks of 12 hour shifts on nights offshore, physically hate it TBH, trying to get my head back into a normal routine after three weeks on nights is a nightmare..

Snap. But I love nights when am offshore. No eyes on ya and just plod along. Am lucky I turn round the next say no worries. I hate days. Hate getting up at 6 for 14-21 days in a row. Am definitely a night person.
No offence, and I am no spelling police. But I can see that you guys work nights just by looking at your spellings and grammar. Most of you seem half asleep while posting your posts on this thread.

i work a beauty of a shift pattern, 3 days on, 8 off, 3 nights on, 3 off, 4 days on, 1 off, 3 nights on, 3 off then it repeats so i only work 13 shifts a month. 12 hrs but no problem when your off more than your in work! i only have to book 3 shifts off a month to extend the 8 days off to 2 weeks. long may it continue.

Nights is the best shift for me too because there are less people around to pester me, and a little less surveillance too, you can get away with things at night which would attact attention in the day. I do find it messes up my sleep though, I always find the transition tough for a week at least.
Agree mate. Am lucky I turn round no worries at all if am a Friday crew change a just stay up from Thursdays shift all day friday. Go to bed Friday night and by Saturday am sorted.

Same here, I got offered a job on the Alwyn last week permanent nights, **** that of the two weeks I would spend at home the first week would be spent with my head up my **** trying to change back onto a normal routine..
8th night in a row , it doesnt bother me , but yes transitions are a bit nuts. I start day shifts monday , to get back to sleep at night will be difficult... but not that a man can't take it, lol...
