Default Another eBay stealth fee!!!

Just had to end an item on eBay as if I'm honest I sold it to a forum member cash in hand.

Now eBay are saying if you end more than one item in a 12 month period you will be charged if it had sold for the amount currently bid to.

I assume they've seen a rise in people ending items early and not content with the listing fee they want to make sure they are not missing out on an ending fee too.

Their excuse is they want to avoid disappointed BUYER's, yet again, eBay sticking one up the seller who pays the fees and looking out for the buyer only.

I've been hit recently by a spate of buyers who don't pay, can I leave negative feedback, can I ****. It's like they treat the buyers like our government treats immigrants, give them everything and take nothing. Quite the opposite to Spartans then!

Anyway rant over

I should imagine so, I half know where they are coming from as I have been bidding on things in the past then realise the item has been ended. But charging the full final value fee is a bit harsh. Maybe 50% max.

So if someone has an STI interior for auction with bids up to £250 but someone comes along and buys it cash for an agreed amount. If the auction is ended even tho not through eBay the seller still pays the best part of £25!

Easy to get round. Once you've sold outside of Ebay, edit your listing to say paypal not excepted, then get someone to report it for breach of listing policies. Ebay will pull it and refund insertation fee's and you'll have no final value fee!

Is that right? Do they HAVE to accept Paypal?

Reason is, I'm looking for a lathe and most say cash on collection only.

Paypal has to be a payment option, on collected goods you are allowed to state cash on collection. However, that does not stop you from paying with paypal.
