Eurosport Le Mans coverage
Anyone been watching Le Mans 24 hours, a great but sad race covered superbly by Eurosport for the whole race.
Going to try and get there next year to tick off another of my boxes. Anyone been?

I've been and its a fantastic experience, way better than going to the British Grand Prix for example.
One of the lads I went with owned a transit van so that was our transport and accommodation all in one, also useful for the booze run on the way home
Go for it if you can, great atmosphere and plenty to see and do. While we were there one of the attractions was the wall of death, impressive to say the least

Yep great coverage from Eurosport but the start of the race put a damper on the whole weekend really, Good to see toyota still up there pushing the audis still....it's getting closer at the top.

Me too, it was ten or more years ago when I did that. Me and a few friends are looking into hiring a camper van for next year, hotels are out of the question as you need to be on site for the duration.
Saying that the transit wasn't too bad, after all you only need a few hours sleep during the wee small hours

Early days yet but we've made a few enquiries and its a possibility we'll hire over here. Personally a van would do for me but the others think a camper would be better. Downside to a camper is the possibility of a bill at the end due to accidental spillage etc, boys on tour
A van, portable gas stove/barbcue and a sleeping bag is adequate for a motor racing weekend

Buy a cheap camper and sell it when you get back, that way its cost you nothing other than the agro of buying and selling but they sell pretty easy so not that much hassle

I've just got back from this years race. Just gets better every year and I'd recommend it to anyone!
We went on the train this year as the guy who sorts it runs a removals company and goes out on the Tuesday with all our gear. He has everything you'd possibly need and 8 sets of bunk beds set up in the back of the van lol!!
The boys all kip in the back of the van and us girls camp. Getting there by train was a much nicer way of doing it than driving through.
Would recommend it to anyone-atmosphere is brilliant!
