BBC just broadcast the figures, sparking the issue of deportation. Would seem reasonable to sling any immigrant that breaks the law out and bar them permanently!

I wonder how many of those were arrested because they weren't supposed to be here (i.e. an immigrant-only crime) or got arrested and just were later found to be illegally here (expired visa, illegal immigrant, etc.) - that would be interesting to know.

I agree, if you break the law as an immigrant then you MUST face deportation, we can't keep giving free luxuries in prison (better prisons than back home) which gives them the nerve to think 'this is easy, we will carry on etc'.

I have no doubt the figure are true, and yes I agree with the OP if they break the law (obviously not silly misdemeanors) they should be deported.

Locals can do it. Old people who no one wants and cares for, single mothers, STI sufferers, alcoholics and gamblers etc. etc. can do that.
