Ethiopian belly

Ethiopian belly
Apparently I look like a white Ethiopian with a pop belly
When I was younger I was always underwait and the misses said it looked like I was holding water or lack of it.
Over the years of big dinners I would say I look healthy. I drink 2 litres or squash a day and I don't drink beer massively (3cans a week max) I'm 5ft 8 and 10 stone 12.
I do lke sweets and probably have 300grammes a week but food wise I eat very little processed. I have vegetables with every meal and prefer squash to fizz.
Yesterday I really pushed my belly out and it was like a prolapse. She took a picture and I had to delete it. It's nasty
She has said I need to start planking, sit ups and other exercises daily rather then when I can be bothered. - I can still do a 2 min plank .
So any pointers please.....

Drinking 2 litres or squash a day is your problem. Try to cut out fizzy juice and burn more calories than you eat in a day will result in pot belly disappear.
Also sit ups or any ab exercises wont work as its impossible to lose fat from one place, your body loses it evenly from all over so best would to be go out walking, jogging or running mate

Sorry I don't drink hardly any fizz but more then happy to change the orange squash to water.
I walk the dogs 2 to 4 miles a day and do need to get back into running. Just stopped after the marathon.
Maybe I should try this insanity DVD that the misses is halfway through. She has bigger guns then me!

Try getting more exercise to build muscle mass. Cardio will work your heart hard, but weights/resistance training will have a more dramatic effect.
Most "belly fat" comes from Saturated Fats and sugars, cut these out and you'll see results.
Try the British Heart Foundation advice on Sat Fats:
http://www.bhf.org.uk/publications/v...spx?ps=1000164
That poster has food groups to avoid, eat occasionally, and eat regularly.
If you're motivated enough. you'll get there pal!

Sounds to me like you've got a sweet tooth, drop the tuffies and drink water, lay off the carbs, bread and beer for a month and it will disappear.
Protein and salad or veg and meat, no potatoes, when walking the dogs up the pace and do 4 miles everyday, jobs a good un.
My work here is done.

As ditch says.
Also check out your portion sizes too. Big plates and large cereal bowls don't half make an oversized food portion look miniscule.
If in doubt. Get some digital scales and weigh it. Most packaged stuff has calories per 100g or 100ml, but if not you'll get typical values through google. So its pretty easy to work out what you daily calorie intake is - so long as you inlcude everything.

But it doesn't sound like you're overweight, and your diet could be a lot worse so I wouldn't have thought it was all just abdo fat.
Is it bloating?
The bloating that Ethiopians get (and anorexics) is a condition called kwashiorkor which is the result of malnutrition/not enough protein, as dpb said.

Thank you for your replies and I can 'hopefully cut out the carbs. I've already gone to just water rathe then juice.-- I don't do fizz and find ribina, oasis etc too sweet.
I've always had 50/50 or seeded bread but happy to have no sandwiches for a month to see what happens.
I'm already on down rice/pasta but can ditch this too.
Maybe I should upload the pic before and after. - its almost exactly like E.T
I do like the Ethiopia comment... I'd be a king
