God that sounds like like death warmed up, even more trying than freshly served stomach lining which I may have to fein appreciation in due course

It was on Q.I., the smell is supposed to absolutely rank, so much so that you're supposed to open the can under water! Apparently it's meant to taste very nice but I doubt I could bring myself to try it lol

The smell is vile. Think maggots crawling out of the letter box kind of smell 
However, if you actually taste it it's not too bad, I guess it's a bit like those awfully stinky cheeses etc...
I'll try most foods at least once, and surstromming (fermented herring) is not as bad as e.g. the totally vile (both stink and taste-wise) shark they serve in Iceland - yuck!
