So here are some codes for the more mature;
ATD = At The Doctors,
BFF = Best Friends Funeral,
BTW = Bring The Wheelchair,
HGBM = Had Good Bowel Movement,
WTL = Where's The Lubricant,
ISMSA = I've **** My self Again,
WTFMT = Where The ****s My Teeth

I have quite a few you lads txt me and its like WTF are they saying. I can understand when it was pressing loads of buttons to get to the right letter etc but not when all modern phones for years have proper keyboards!
Why use txt speak when in most cases using normal words would only be one button press more?
I mean as an example m8 as in mate, it takes two extra key presses extra to get to an 8 or an extra hold to get to the 8 so its just quicker to type " mate" and that goes for most words that are cut down.

I am old and must take issue, for me to text a small message takes too long, so I phone (using speed dial) and actually have a conversation, that is something the youngsters can't seem to manage.

Mind you, iPhones allow easy, touchscreen texting and ample text spaces to go on, if you fancy.
However, one SMS code i.e. IAIDCPOS should be helpful. That means "I Am In Da Car Park Outside" for the occasions when my kid needs picking from uni, station, gigs etc. my kid would go all confuzzled at that, and text back- "Maaarmy, WOEAUTA????" means "What On Earth are you talking About?". I'll just answer- SD. IFTTMTTM i.e. "Sorry, dear. I forgot to take my tablet this morning."
About that Da thing, its a modern thing
I ought to use it to gel with the young ones.
