A worrying precedent which needs to be firmly opposed. Native birds making a comeback being persecuted so **** can shoot non-native pheasants is not correct.

That is disgraceful.
I wonder how many MPs or Royal Family members use that pheasant shoot?
I hope the RSPB flex their legal muscles on this.
I've seen wild buzzards in Scotland, they are awesome, just how many birds do they think will be saved by culling Buzzards?
Better cull motorists in the area too, no doubt they've killed a few on the roads.

Natural England are a pain in the backside
I'm finance chairman of our local council and we had a tree fell down across the river and they would not let us move it untill after fish spauning
We had out local tree officer ,foot ways officer and H&S man involved all backing us in wanting to remove the tree and the landowner was going to do it Free of charge
no they said and threaded us all with legal action if we moved the tree
We had to close the footpath for our walkers and cost us a couple of grand as they would not let us lift the tree over a field incase it damaged the grass the farmer was happy to help us too
Never seen such a burcracy decision from an office 300 miles away which caused us so. Much grief and ignored the advice of profffesionals
Another government dept that should be closed down as they have no common sense
We will never ring them again for advice

Money talks, game bird shooting is huge business especially in Scotland. Falconry is my passion and to see any bird of prey hurt or killed angers me greatly especially when it boils down to a pheasant shoot.
Edited the rest of my post as i've just been on the falconry forum and a long discussion on there about it with a lot more facts revealed. The nests are by a free range poultry farm and the other by a pheasant rearing enterprise and nothing to do with pheasant shoots apparently.
Having Buzzards nest there is not exactly ideal I admit but then that's what happens when you have a lot of prey species in one place, it attracts predators.

Lesser black-backed Gulls as well. Natural England is the government body with the remit "To ensure that the natural environment is conserved, enhanced and managed for the benefit of present and future generations, thereby contributing to sustainable development."

They must be very selfish people to advocate such an action.
