First my grandad and now a member of my favourite band ! not a good week for me, obviously relatives take precedence but the Doors have been my thing for almost thirty years ,ever since hearing Light My Fire as a tune in a computer game, whilsting it and my dad telling me it was the Doors.

Surprised nobody posted a thread, epic band, even edge Pink Floyd out for me. Ray manzarek was the visionary, to me, probably more responsible for their sound than Jim Morrison.

wow never heard about ray passing, he was the sound of the doors! jim was the voice obviously. gonna have to go listen to the long version of light my fire. r.i.p ray manzarek

I have never been into them myself, but I do remember clearly as a chilld my older Brother was very much a fan. My Mum always refered to them as "the wardrobes", which used to drive him mad.
