Mandelson tells the truth?
We all knew it, they continued to deny it and now one more change of direction...
This seems like something akin to confessing ones sins on the deathbed.
Standard version:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukne...on-admits.html
Or if you want the foaming at the mouth version:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...Mandelson.html
Love some of the comments on the mail, you can just picture the red faces of indignation!

I obviously read the Daily Mail version But wow, it is pretty amazing for them to actually admit that. It's like they all want UKIP to actually win the next election!

Hahahaha - I particularly liked this DM commentor... note his location!
Look - Britain became wealthy by taking all of their jewels, gold, ivory and selling slaves from there. They are just coming back and getting recompense.

Sorry twice. The third investigation was brushed under by Gordie.
In October 2008, Mandelson was reported to have maintained private contacts over several years with Russian oligarch http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oleg_Deripaska, most recently on holiday in August 2008 on Deripaska's yacht at Taverna Agni on the Greek island of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corfu. News of the contacts sparked criticism because, as European Union trade commissioner, Mandelson had been responsible for two decisions to cut aluminium tariffs that had benefited Deripaska's United Company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RusAl.
Mandelson denied that there had been a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conflict_of_interest and insisted that he had never discussed aluminium tariffs with Deripaska. On 26 October 2008, the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shadow_Foreign_Secretary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Hague claimed the "whole country" wanted "transparency" about Mandelson's previous meetings with Deripaska.
In response, Prime Minister http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gordon_Brown said Mandelson's dealings with Deripaska had been "found to be above board". Mandelson said that meeting business figures from "across the range" in emerging economies was part of his brief as EU trade commissioner. On 29 October 2008, while Mandelson was on a ministerial visit to Moscow,it was alleged in the British press that, head of security at Deripaska's company Basic Element, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valery_Pechyonkin, had organised a swift entry visa for Mandelson when he turned up in Moscow to visit Deripaska in 2005.

We recruit the best grads we can get our hands on, I would estimate that only about 1 in 3 of the CVs I get are from UK citizens, the rest are from all over the EU.
I think when people think about the whole immigration issue they only think of low-skilled labour from Eastern Europe, that's really not the whole story.
Freedom of movement in the EU is good for us, and many bsuinesses like ours. High calibre grads are the absolute lifeblood of our business. I wonder what a UKIP style blanket ban on immigration would do to businesses like ours?

At least now we have a possible reason why Martin is so pro-EU! Is he taking advantage of the cheap labour market afforded by the EU immigration regulations? To think he calls himself a moderate

yes, sums you up to a T.
Edited for truth and accuracy.
never said it was, nor did I say I didn't like it. You can be cocky if you want, we all know where you are coming from anyway...
Not an option...and I wouldn't live in Essex if YOU paid me...I'd have to kill everyone that talked Estuary English at me

So 2 things
1. I'm not 'Pro-EU' just as I'm not Anti-EU. I'm euro-sceptic (in the true sense)
2. The people we hire, whether from the UK or EU are certainly not cheap. We hire the best grads we can get. The simple truth is that there are not enough UK grads about with the skills we require. I believe this says more about the university system than our recruitment policy.

P.S. A gold star for actually managing a successful use of the quote function for once
