If you were stopped at traffic lights and a police car came up behind you with the 2-tones on and you went through the red then the red light camera went off, where would you stand legally?
I only mention this as I was forced to go through a red light yesterday on my way back from work as a police car needed to get passed. The camera on the top did not flash but I am still curious. It’s not the first time it’s happened to me.
I would have thought the Police would not want the normal Jo Bloggs of the street to go through red lights of safety, insurance etc. reasons.

slightly different I know but i got zapped by a camera during a storm and they didn't want to know.
I was driving towards a lights when there was a flash of sheet lightning, when it cleared the light was amber and i braked and the car started to aquaplane. In order to avoid an accident i released the brake and ran the red (it was all clear). The camera got a picture of me doing 28mph (in a 50mph) so it was obvious I had tried to stop. Basically wrote them a letter but they said the camera never lies. Got 3 points and a fine.
so be careful.

Yes, its true, I saw a UFO landing - dazzled me and by the time my eyes focused I was through the red lights officer - they have heard them all before!!
In the case of the 2-tones I would sit there, they can overtake surely?

Just go through the lights. Police officers on blue light emergency calls have far more important things on their mind and will appreciate you getting out of the way. If the camera flashes if you go through the light it will also get the police car in the shot so you shouldn't get a ticket. If you do then ask to see the picture and explain it.
