Question Scooby Parts to Europe?

Hi,

Might be abit of a strange question, but is there some kind of shortage of Subaru parts in Europe, or are the phenominaly expenscive there?
Only asking as I have been selling parts from my Legacy GT which I broke on Ebay. Some smaller parts have gone within the country, but the gearbox and diff went to France (costing the buyer 1.5 times the buying price for shipping!!) and the Engine and turbos I am getting interest from Austria and Germany, which again will be costing a small fortune in shipping!
Although I dont think I am after big money for the parts, the shipping does make then really quite pricey!
Just abit supprised and confused really.

Cheers all,

Lee

Car parts in general are stupidly expensive in France. Its well worth while buying stuff from UK - and not just Scooby parts or other rare stuff. Its often cheaper to buy stuff like timing belts and exhausts for Peugeot/Citroen/Renault in UK, including the postage costs for a fair chunk less than buying locally.
As for the Subaru stuff.....I have lived here for 7 years now and have seen less than ten Imprezas on the road in the area, so finding used parts is impossible.

Thanks David, was just stunned when the buyer didnt quibble about a shipping bill of £220 which I was at and tbh was embarrased about quoting them.

Sent a 4x4 gearbox and transfer box (flipping heavy beast) to France the week before Easter on a pallet service for just 85 quid plus vat and was delivered 72hrs after it left me. It helps to know the right people!

Yes, there is a shortage, and the parts over there are very expensive.... goes for the whole cars aswell.

Spoke to Saj @ Jap Performance Parts a while ago and they are sending huge amounts of parts to France
