Angry City Link - what a crappy delivery service!

Waiting in for a delivery this morning.

I see City Link van drive up, brilliant I thought ..... made my way downstairs, as I'm halfway down the stairs - clatter, clatter of the letterbox.

That's odd, postman arriving at the same time as the City Link Delivery. I open the door to see the back of the City Link van disappearing along the road!!!!!!

WTF?????????????????????? They didn't even attempt a delivery, didn't knock on the door, just pushed a card through saying 'sorry we missed you'!!

I am fecking fuming!! Rang the number on the card, they have texted the driver to come back ...... but, his shift ends at 12 noon - I doubt I'll see them!!

I caught them doing this a couple of years ago but I was quicker out the door and grabbed them before they drove off!!

I've never had a problem with City Link before. It must have been the individual driver; who wants to work on a saturday?

He'd probably been knocking on the door for 10 minutes. Did you have your hearing aid switched off?

Had similar to this with Dominoes a few weeks ago. Heard the door knock , got up and walked to front door (5meters max) and he was at the end of the drive about to get in his car !

At least u got a delivery , i ordered gauges last Sunday 1class recorded Royal Mail and still no sign today. With it being easter i wont see them till Wednesday at the soonest.

All down to the individual driver I reckon Pete. I had a recent delivery from them which was ok.

Royal mail are just as bad! Waited in all Friday for the new BT box to turn up. No knocks or anything. The guy is coming tomorrow to install it and thought I'd check the bin cupboard just incase.

Big sign on the bin saying do not leave parcels in here. Told the operator to make a note to not leave it in there... It was in there. FFS No knock on the door or anything. Dogs bark when someone knocks and they were quiet all day.

They certainly do, it's a more expensive service.

A few years ago we were using Sainsburys for home delivery and one week we decided to try Tesco. The van turned up, parked outside the house for about 20 seconds and then drove off!!! The local store came up with some story - and suggested the driver never got near our house as he could not find it (normal house on a normal road). Their story changed when I gave them a CD with our CCTV on it!!

They are **** mate, we make a point of not using them for this reason and most of our parcels we sent with them ended up damaged. We have found UPS in UK/Europe and FedEx for international to be the best

Dominos?

Surely the drivers only get paid for successful deliveries?
