Ideas to revamp Top Gear
Top Gear is getting a bit samey these days, races that aren't races, supercar around the track, group test with idiotic challenges etc.
What is the SN solution to revamp it? I would personally like to see a tyre test done, maybe along these lines....

Personally I think they should spend more time looking at performance cars that are accessible to 'normal' people, not just millionaires.
I remember the days when they used to do things like compare the 106gti, VTS and punto gt turbo against eachother!! Needs to go back to more of those sorts of things! Loads of affordable performance cars come out, but rarely do top gear look at them.

No revamp needed as its brilliant as it is, they do how ever need to extend the amount of episodes in the series with exactly the same as what they are doing now.......light all round family based entertainment!!

Yeah, they could compare the new Astra with the new Focus....best boot space, easiest folding seats, most cup holders etc, then do a bit about which large saloon gives best motorway MPG....oh hang on - all that kind of stuff is tedious as **** to watch.
Have a look on youtube for old top gear episodes....its a proper snore-fest.

Top Gear is getting a bit boring tbh, they need to come up with some more ideas and bring in a bit of originality.
At the moment Fifth Gear is a better programme. Can't believe I just said that

Yeah, but what is the point of the "boring stuff" anyway? If I were in the market for a new hot hatch or family saloon, I would test drive them for myself to find which I think is the most comfortable or best handling, not listen to some beard on tv tell me what he thinks is the best (and in reality is being told to say that anyway no matter what he may actually think - the old Top Gear was no less scripted than the current version)
Being told these sorts of facts makes for dull viewing. I want to watch things that I CANT just go out and do on a Saturday afternoon ie thrash a supercar round a track till the tyres blow, or race across Europe in an Aston Martin.....

I agree. Like car magazines, these types of review are not only boring but actually aren't a review, just an opinion of which car "they" like. Which is usless to 99% of car buyers where a one day test drive from the dealers would serve far more benefit.
Top gear needs a spruce up though. Same format but new material and try to avoid the same gags and storylines as done in previous series.
