I surfed in the heaviest hail storm I've seen in the UK today. It bloody hurt!

It snowed at random in North Wales in last two weeks. It has been sleeting and pouring down with rain since yesterday. I bet daffodils are really confused.

Yup, it is still winter (with a few more days to go) - despite the fact that the Met Office decided a couple of years ago that the first of March was spring, no doubt to skew their global warming/climate change/global wierding/planetary apocalypse "facts" in order to tax us all a lot more!

Nothing unusual about snow at this time of year.

Would expect to see snow falling up until mid April here

It's been chilly today but otherwise a very pretty day. I spent a good part of the afternoon looking out over the lough from my spareroom window listening the birds on full song. It was very calming.

What wasn't calming is the fact the Ikea seat in my spareroom is a million times more comfy than the 2 seater sofa i bought from DFS at 9times the price.

Yesterday was madness snow wise. I literally got home from work and within an hour the weather had completely changed and my car was hidden under all the snow! It was a rather good excuse for not cleaning the car though.

Starting raining at about 1pm here, turned into sleet, then snow. Put about an inch of snow down, then rain again. The only snow left is now on grassed areas.

Amount of snow actually FORECAST: 0%.

Well we've got 2 days of solid snow forecast for Monday/Tuesday with windchill making -10 so definitely a sign that spring is indeed in the air

last week, the ten-day forecasts gave milder temperatures from the 21st, with max/min temperatures between 6 and 12 degrees.

No more snow was forecast.

Now we have had snow here, plus more is forecast for tomorrow.
Temperatures are now not expected to go over 4 degrees for the foreseeable future

So what happened?
And why didn't they know?

Sorry Alcazar, it was forecast.

I thought about taking my winter tyres off a couple of weeks ago, checked the long range forecast (netweather.tv) and they forecast plenty of snow for this week.

Certainly for up here anyway

I'm totally pissed off with the weather now, and I actually like it cold.
It's just gone on too long.

Temperature of -1 with a 45 MPH wind made it fooking freezing where I'm at on the East coast today, did snow for a bit twice but it didn't hang around.

OK, perhaps still expected conditions for the highlands, but not normal for the rest of the UK

I love it like this. Much better having cold crisp sunny days with occasional snow fall rather than wet and miserable.
