Nothing. I donate to my local cancer hospice and the air ambulance.
I like to know where/what my hard earned is being used for.

As much as I feel sorry for the people that get shown on TV, I only give to a local hospice.

To be honest I don't appreciate the commercialised guilt trip they put you on all night, and I don't neccessary agree with everything they try to ram down your throat.

Id rather donate to other charities closer to home, and have monthly direct debits go out for the nspcc and RSPCA.

Sounds harsh, but the way I see it.......if no one donated anything, everyone in poverty stricken countries would die, and then it would be the end to all the problems.

Over the last x amount of decades, the world has given Africa billions upon billions of pounds....they're still in the same position they were when we started donating!! Why don't they spend that money on teaching them about safe sex and providing them with free contraception. Complete waste of time and money.

Ill stick with donating to help for heroes, the Army benevolent fund and SSAFA, I know my money is going towards worthy causes and towards those that give so much to OUR OWN COUNTRY.

Oh, and a big shout out to the Donkey Sanctuary too, awesome charity!!!

Well, that's kind of what I dont like about it. The people living in poverty in Africa still see to keep having sex and producing children even though they can't even feed a child, and having HIV doesn't stop them either.
I don't get it.

Except that it's not just one night, it's rammed down your throat for weeks before and after.

More than harsh, stupid

Malaria is an almost unresolvable problem, but vaccines for the rest isn't a waste

Likewise going to school

Also there isn't an overcrowding problem, the place is huge ...

Also people are not press ganged into joining the Army anymore, unless you live in somalia or Sudan etc.

I wouldn't be seen dead with a red nose but it would be churlish not to admire the effort that some make to raise funds so well done to them.

Perhaps I am being naive but I reckon most of the money donated is used properly and how can you argue against giving a fiver for a mozzie net that will save a kid? Less than the cost of a pack of ****.

The "Let 'em die, they brought it on themselves" philosophy just shows how low some sections of our society have sunk. Utterly selfish and sickening.

And just to add that the West ripped the heart out of Africa plundering its riches and shipping blacks off to slavery so it deserves something back from us.

When the "White Devil" ran those countries they were productive. Look at them now. Killing each other. Begging for handouts. Useless fvckers.

Fair point but is that a reason not to try and help? It's not the kids' fault.

Perhaps if Whitie had seen fit to offer some education things might now be better and, of course, we have taught them corruption.

I still believe that if we put in some Western technology on a big scale it would make a huge difference. Such as solar power and better farming technique. And stop banks shipping out illicit gains by individuals.

Stupid? Or the answer? You can't deny it wouldn't eventually work. The current system of ploughing money into the place doesn't work, so why not.

I know, I've been to many parts of Africa and done aid / construction work.

I know, I've spent the last 8 years in the Army.

There's massive development farming in Zambia when we were there, almost every other minute on the tv explaining what's happening,

Too much money raised (Over £75 million!) for one form of charity when there are so many worthy charities who could do with a tiny amount of that!
I'm all for giving to charity but as there is so much donated to 'human' needs, I tend to give to animal welfare charities. It's a sad fact that the human animal is the only one that lies, cheats, destroys for the sake of it and starts wars.
