diy injury
Just out of hospital after nearly severing hand with a circular saw .happened so fast.cut 8 tendns and main artery.
Anyone done anything similar.

pictures !!! haha i fell through the ceiling and landed pretty hard downstairs. thought i had broke my ankle but luckily got away with it. the dog was looking at me in a very bemused way haha

not dit but work injury, broke my foot displacing the bones to almost being a compound, broke my toes and chipped my ankle bone too. for 3 months I had rods sticking out of my foot and the best thing was I had a removable plaster so I could show my stitches off while they were still fresh ;-)

Stuffed a finger into a machine press, left me with a numb middle finger above the first joint, and I'm far more squeamish about blood and guts now.
"Bigarf" also had a run-in with A&E after being attacked by a slice of stainless recently....

Nothing that bad, but I tend to have lots of less serious accidents. Maybe I'm clumsy....
The most recent being, I completely tore off my big toenail when I was cleaning the toilet. I was actually most shocked by the amount of blood shed from what seems like a little accident. Six months later, and that still hasn't sorted itself out.

I've given myself a flip-top head running under some metal fire escape steps - needed numerous stitches above and below the skin to stick it back down again.
Also got run over by a BT van (the old yellow vans) and fractured my skull.
Plus broken my collar bone and arms.
I really should stay indoors

Just a shower related accident in a hotel in Cambridge, no bath mat and the shower was covered in shower gel (not cleaned properly), managed to grab the shower hose to abate my fall but it pulled from the holder so it just slowed me down a bit, back I went, head hits granite plinth (Poncy boutique type hotel) and then my elbow hits the Granite floor, a room seemingly designed to offer amply opportunity for the naked wet person to slide around to cause injury, to cap it off as I came to, got up and went out clutching whats left of my elbow (massive gash) I catch my foot on a nail sticking up from the carpet strip causing more blood loss !
Hotel were dicks about it, on the face concerned but trying to get me (concussed) to sign a waiver and when I got back the room had been cleaned and the carpet strip removed to erase any evidence, they were terrified I may claim but the fact there were like that made me feel like claiming, wouldnt have bothered otherwise, I didnt but I gave it some thought based on their self preservation attitude.

Holy Crap!!
I like doing really stupid injuries; it some scars that make ne look like Gorbachev; I partially opened our roll up garage door in high winds, forgot, ran back in to get something, walloped my head on it; two big cuts despite wearing a beanie hat. Concussed, etc. Three hours later I came off my MTB, ripped open my coat sleeve, nasty gash on elbow which still hurts five weeks later.
Doh!

Wort one I ever did was running up a bank at Alton Towers, off the beaten track.
Ducked under a tree branch, came up under one that stuck downwards and hit it at full pelt.
The injury need 26 stitches to the top of my head, and the b*gger STILL itches when it's going to rain, after 31 years......

I've been doing lots of DIY over the last two years, ambitious compared to previous skills and great potential for some horrific accidents, avoided I think by good management. I stay away from chainsaws, circular saws and am careful at height and so far OK.
Was there any lesson to learn from this accident in terms of safe operating procedures?

DIY injury for me today 
faulty door locked me in basement waste room with prospect of spending weekend alone in a room............ decided to smash down door but only managed to hurt shoulder and cut hands on flying glass.
Door sprung open of it's own accord later !!
Wonder how James bond gets through locked doors ?

Not really DIY but I did manage to stick a chainsaw into my left forearm, not too bad plenty of claret and eight stitches...quite lucky I was wearing a waterproof and a jumper to slow the chain down
