I've been thinking about buying a couple of modern board games. Not the traditional games like Risk or Monopoly.

Ones I have short-listed are:-

Ticket to Ride
7 Wonders
Mansions of Madness
Heroscape

Anyone have any previous with the above? Too geeky even for Scoobynet?

 

The two we play most often in our family are The Logo Board Game and Sequence. Both are really good, but get a bit boisterous when played by competitive people

For quieter, more cerebral moments, we're all partial to scrabble or bananagrams
