I'm on my own tonight looking after my son so after he was in bed at 7.45 it was free reign. A bit of Man Vs Food (Dave), then Wheeler Dealers (Discovery Channel - mk1 Escort) and an hour of Forrest Gump on Film4.
Nothing better on so sacked it off and in bed
Isaac will no doubt be a pain for his dad tomorrow do it'll be an early rise for me Nd crap CBoobies all day

Abandoned telly tonight and we played board games with the kids, listening to music.
And then debated if KISS or Skid Row did the best version of "C'mon and love me"

seriously, who the fvck in this day and age has the time or inclination to watch TV
it is total sh1te - 7 days a week, not just at the weekend
read a book, or listen to the radio or go "out"– all 10 times better than the “black and white minstrels” on a sat “turd” day night
surely TV is for the under 15's these days

Not into going out, I'm too old and none of my mates would want to go. Plus going out in THIS town is asking for trouble
As for reading, I do read, lots, at least a book a week, usually much more, but, having spent all day building a 7mm scale model steam loco, I wanted to give my near vision a rest.
I ended up reading......

There's 12 episodes in this series. Subtitles really demand full concentration as well. Often have to record the second episode as the eyelids droop. Think it's 'formidable' though.

I don't even have a TV at the moment. There's one in the front room, but i don't use that room.
Lent my TV to my mate when he bought his flat. Haven't asked for it back in nearly 8 months.
I stream programs/films that i want to watch on my laptop or find other things to do.
Standard broadcasted TV will die out in favour of 'on demand' services i think.

Yep that bloody 800 quid I spent on telly ( years of research to find the right one )
- and I realise there's only about ten programmes I ever watch anyway ., otherwise I'm more or less forcing myself to watch something

Watched body of lies last night, which wasn't bad and a good blip on what is a tedious programme schedule. But it was on far too late. And everything on before that was just inane crap.
"Primetime" TV has gone downhill big style especially ITV. Not only its programmes, with the continual dross that is daily 2-part soaps and its politically biased news, but its picture quality (ITV non-HD is aweful, ITV3/+1 etc is a insult to my eyesight), and it'd be nice if ITV1 HD finally pulled their fingers out their ***** and transmitted films in their native 5.1 audio.
PCM on cable/freeview and Dolby 2.0 on freesat is unacceptable when $ky have been transmitting films in 5.1 for over ten years FFS!

I watched Body of Lies on TV last night as well. It was ok, nothing massively effective apart from that girly-faced Leonardo speaking just enough Arabic. Mark Strong was very engaging, mind. Crowe was a bit weighty, and that's about it.
I also watched Lincoln in cinema yesterday. Not impressed. DDL's work kept me interested, but very over-estimated piece to spend over two hours on watching it in cinema. I wanted to watch cinema, not theatre. Sorry, Spielberg geezer. You didn't do justice there. Just my opinion.

I also caught a bit of Jonathan Ross Show before the film. It was pretty cr@p apart from seeing a clip of 4yr. old Bruno Mars singing as Elvis. He looked very cute as a showman kiddo, awww.

We came back from a two week holiday in Thailand last Sunday - one of the first things we noticed when starting to watch TV again (not because there is much we actually WANT to watch, more to "have something on") was how sh!te and pathetic a lot of it actually is.
You don't really notice until you go away from it for a while then come back and start turning the TV on again.
