Default Nice food...

I'm getting bored of the food I eat and have slowly started eating tomato based sauces.

I don't mind spagetti bollocknase and have just seen Bruce Willis in Last man standing eating spagetti with a tomato sauce but what is it?

What are good spagett/ tomato meals..

Don't over do the tomato's as I've only just started to like them. Nothing too thick please.

Aldi's tomato & basil soup (from 'The London Soup Co.' - of Leeds!) is only 89 pence for 600ml, very low calorie (if you're bothered) and it's lovely.

Fry an onion and some garlic add a tin of tomato's, salt, pepper and a bit of sugar. simmer until reduced. You can also add balsamic vinegar, basil, tomato pure. That's your basic tomato sauce for pizza or pasta.
Then add meat *****, salmon, chicken, sausage or anything else you can think of. Add a bit of cream to be unhealthy.

i suspect we may have a garlic issue here too

and food without garlic generally tastes of cardboard (without the cardboard "twang") -- which can get boring after a while

one of the simplest pasta dishes, is just plain spagetti, cooked until just "crunchy" (al dente to the conoscenti)

then mixed with crushed black pepper corn and garlic, and served with a lite drizzle of decent olive oil

and finally topped off with loads of parmigiano reggiano

simple and delicious

Fry up chopped chorizo, garlic and onion in olive oil. Add oregano and then mix with freshly cooked pasta.

This^^^^

We used to have TWO decent Italian restaurants and THREE decent Italian take away Pizzerias in this town.

Now we have Asian or Cypriot owned establishments who serve bland, garlic free, food and pizer, instead of pizza.

I think they call it 'Alfredo' sauce in the USA.
(I might be completely wrong).

If I'm making Spag Bol I use the Ragu tomato sauce just because it's nice but for pasta or lasagna then we just do what's already been said.
Onion, garlic, tomato purée, basil, oregano. Add some chopped tomatoes if you want it more liquidy. Chorizo goes really nice in it too, and mushrooms.

Sun-dried tomato pesto is lovely with pasta, but the Sacla one is vile far too salty, supermarket own brands are nice though.
