Its not just London its the whole country, a lot of white professionals started leaving years ago. Some of my mates have moved abroad and never looked back, I've always said if I could take my son (no way ex would allow it) I would leave as soon as possible.

It's not as gloomy as the headlines are making out.
This isn't an immigration issue its just that people that have owned property for a considerable amount of time are now selling up and moving elsewhere.
They have made a vast amount of profit on their property and are now retiring to the countryside or the seaside.

There was an article in the Telegraph in January, by a white British woman, saying she was moving away, as the area she was living in had become segregated.
She pointed out that the vast majority of the population was asian, whilst the only other white woman she saw, was eastern European and didn't speak English.
I can't seem to find it through the search, but I think it was around the time the one of the Two Fat Ladies made her remark about Leicester being scary.

We lived in London for several years (Battersea) but moved out when kids were young. Just didn't want them brought up where it wasn't safe to walk to the local shop or cycle around the corner. Dog **** all over the pavements and dodgy schools with drugs and poor discipline. Never regretted it.
London is great for young couples or singles with a few bob but that's it.
Our 5 bed house cost £42k and now a million plus. If only........

I was just looking at this report. Seems odd that they say white people have moved out because they are aspirational & economically successful.Hard to believe there are so many rich people in London's poorest boroughs. Also the largest exodus is from the areas with the largest immigrant population.
Seems to also point too evidence of the BBC's political bias as the reporter says it is not all about white flight & 'thinks' this may be the case but gives no evidence to support economic migration.

London is a melting pot by design. You have multi-million pound pads next door to social housing. Personally I think this is what makes London, it is not completely gentrified in any one area (except maybe the West), and as a result there is a great mix of people.
But this also means apart from a few boroughs west, you don't get many areas that you could consider 'nice', that is clean, tidy, respectful neighbours, high employment, low crime, etc. To get that, you have to move out to the west boroughs, or - more affordably - out of London.
I suspect many immigrants either don't have the money to get out of London, or have too many ties to the city to move, or simply have no desire to be in the UK anywhere but in London (I know many immigrants who have not strayed out of London while in the UK). White indiginous folk tend to know the country outside of London, have family ties, etc. so naturally will move out of London. I certainly plan to when I retire!

So more space for more black professionals like me and mine then.
I’m up in London visiting family this weekend and my nephew’s insisted I come and see his £2.2k pm ‘apartment’ near Green Park. Looks like Westminster's going to be the next dark Borough, then.
‘White flight’ was alive and well in the 1970’s when I lived in East London. Back then it was flight to Essex, Canada and Aus. It was Wales, France, Spain and Cyprus in the 90’s and 00s. It’s worldwide now.
You’re right that you’re best off out of here altogether because ‘non-whitey-ness’ is contagious and very dangerous. And in any case, you’re running out of UK places to run to because I’ve been lowering house prices in mid-Wales and Cyprus for some time and now we’re empty-nesters I’m wondering where I’m going to force the white population out of next.

I’m up in London visiting family this weekend and my nephew’s insisted I come and see his £2.2k pm ‘apartment’ near Green Park. Looks like Westminster's going to be the next dark Borough, then.

I used to have to work in London for about 3 years or so. I did not enjoy being there and was very relieved when the job changed to somewhere else. That was a good many years ago when the foreign population of London was pretty low anyway.

If I had to have a wild stab in the dark from most of your posts i'd say you were middle aged, white, labour / lib dem supporter and you think you're middle class, straight, married with a pet (probably cat). I only say this because most of the "offended" crew are the opposite of what people are actually getting offended about.
The lad above obviously isn't bothered, gays don't care about marriage and so on, I work with plenty of "foreigners" if people (including myself) want to call them that, gurkas and fijians mainly, we constantly rip each other about our countries and skin colour etc, i'm sure if you walked in the room half way through you'd be mortified.
