Woops: railway line moved.....
At Stainforth, between Scunthorpe and Doncaster:

The bottom one shows just how waterlogged the whole thing is
Apparently it's still moving, and they SAY the line will be out of action for "at least 8 weeks".
aye, right, I'll be surprised if it's under 8 months.
Ed Milliband is now involved, he's the local MP....make that 18 months, LOL.
The lines between Scunthorpe and Doncaster, and Goole and Doncaster, (plus Hull to Doncaster via Goole) are all cut and buses are being used, adding up to an hour to the journey.
Freight to Scunthorpe, the country's biggest steelworks, is badly disrupted.

It's the worst I have seen it.
I live on top of the north downs.100's of feet of chalk under me.Fantastic drainage.Now,when it rains the water just runs off the fields into the roads.I have never seen that before.
Happily I live on the 3rd floor,so someway to go yet.
