We must drove quite near his estate a few weeks ago, if you got live behind bars its hardly worth bothering imo.
You're a target if someone thinks you're rich tho, me I'd just hand em the goods

He has a pistol by his bed, a machine gun by his window and baseball and cricket bat behind his bedroom door. Paranoia or just a way of life in SA?

The way of Life..... we have a ex-pat SA/Zim chap work for us - some of the stories he tells are truly shocking!

They finally left when his daughter was kidnapped for ransom

He 'sold' his massive house with swimming pool, staff for 24K etc etc and moved to the UK, with virtually NOTHING.

He tells that they used to put their big dog in a sack, get the black gardener to beat it with a stick, so the dog ******* hated blacks, so when a black arm appeared over the garden wall, as they did regularly, the dog would bite it!

He would *NEVER* go back.

It's a different world out there.

Hm. Pistolious seems to be a very frightened man. May be, it is a way of life over there. The more important <you think> you are, the more fearful you are < you have to be>? Imagine if he did kill his GF out of fear of an intruder on Valentine's Day, how will he live with himself for the rest of his life?? Terrible. What a waste of a beautiful and loving girl's life, who apparently knew him only since November 2012.

He could be a right weirdo in relationships with women for what we know. Perhaps they had been having fights of domestic nature due to his 'paranoia' for a while, as the news says? How unlucky for the girl, in any case. Her family must wish she never went out with him.

Presumably he's allowed back here to stay on account being white

Is this drug-influenced? Serious question.

Paranoia. I have multiple friends out there and am a regular visitor - last time in October to Jo'burg and Pretoria- none of them have machine guns or sleep with pistols. Some bad stuff goes on, sure, but inside a highly secure compound like his one you normally don't need to be tooled up like that.

Presume his girlfriend knew he had all that and still thought it was a good idea to surprise him? Yeah right.

So far paranoia is concerned, there are many paranoid people in this country who sleep with baseball bat, have number of security cameras around their properties, big dogs, alarm systems etc. Past trauma experience can cause that. But surely they won't fire four times at their GF because she startled them while they were sleeping?? I think after shooting once in that circumstance, won't you feel sober and feel stunned yourself for what the bloody hell you've done to someone you love??? One may continue to shoot if he/she is overcome with paranoia (or other strong emotion) to the point that one loses touch with reality for that time-being.

As he has now been formally charged for murder, police must have more than just the 'startle' story for charging him. Perhaps the couple were already fighting before the male went nuts and shot her repeatedly. Perhaps he is, and was an unstable paranoid-schizoid or a chronic trauma sufferer throughout their relationship, and it ended like this. Whatever it is, what a horrifying incident.

I heard Reeva's mum on R4 news on my way back from work. She was saying something like she wished she could have known and warned Reeva that he was that type of man, and she didn't understand why he had to keep shooting until she was dead. I don't think her parents trust Pistorious' story.

Apparently, he was emotionless this time in the court. No tears, no sobbing, nothing. The judge slated media, and appealed witnesses to bring their stuff to court, not blabber to the media etc. etc.

I really hope justice gets done.

His story never rang true with me from the start, just seems to be that he went well over the top after an argument.
