was more a case of moderators not accepting technical stuff they are told, then banning the people when they dont agree with them.

Moderators are human too.

They are not police or referees; As typically there is no global set standard or code on which they need to operate by (with the exception of doing what the site owner/webmaster asks).

Bit like pub landords...**** them off and you're barred...even if you are right

Personally I see the Ban button a bit like the mute button on the TV.
