Exclamation Couriers question (Long shot, but hey...)

Our company may need to arrange a really hasty shipment for Saturday collection.

I don't suppose any of you good folk on here know of a courier that will COLLECT on a SATURDAY... and DELIVER, 2 days later, on the MONDAY?!?!

...The kicker being, though, that it is going to the USA (Lancaster, PA)!

I've been trying for ages (most of today and yesterday) online/phonecalls/emails.... And no success as of yet.

FedEx but you be looking at a fortune if its a big item, when I was working out of the Cardiff depo we use to have a Saturday morning delivery and collection service until 1pm, don't know if its still an option but would imagine it to be anything going abroad will be handled by one of the major courier / freight companies, smaller companies will often offer the service but it will get shipped via FedEx, ups, etc regardless, just remember to complete the paperwork correctly

Use parcel 2 go and choose ups from the list when quoted as it cheaper on there rather than direct with ups

Thanks for all your replies...

Tried all the options mentioned - a no go, I'm afraid.

Plus tried ParcelHero - can do Sat collection... But only Tues>on delivery.

myHerpes do Sat collections/depot drop-offs and Monday delivery.... But only in the UK. Sigh.

Indeed, I just asked our FedEx driver the same question, and he said he wasn't aware of any that could do it.

I've sent stuff to the NY on next day delivery but you won't get anything sent on a Saturday for Monday.
Send out Friday and will get delivered Monday.

Yeah, it's our company/agent/customer that's being a bunch of *****.

It's unrealistic and unreasonable.

Well, I tell you one thing; muggins 'ere WILL NOT be taking it. I don't do plane flights. (Quite apart from ****ing my weekend up).

By hand couriers will manage it if can be put in a luggage hold/carry on.

I've used a few to get documents to the US.

Buy me a return ticket and I'll get on the flight tomorrow. I still have a valid ETSA, too

Cheers for that PM Lum.

Strangely, it went quiet today - I have no idea whether my company is still gonna try to send it.

Weird.

I can speak with authority here. Done it for twenty years
Finest problem is your east coast weather, lots of airports cancelling flights

In my opinion you need a friendly freight agent to collect sat am run it up to man or Lhr and try and get it on a flight to phl. Or Boston, bizarrely via Amsterdam may be quicker than trucking internally in the USA. I'd go for the man-pho us air flight if I were you.

In America you need power of attorney to clear someone's goods. You might be lucky but my money is on it being delivered weds.

Or maybe if you use FedEx. Tell them you can deliver it yourself to the FedEx or ups hub at East Midlands airport on Saturday morning see if they will process it there and put on flight
