Thats what I've heard from most reviews, it's that or life of pi for us on Saturday night.
You will have to see this at some point, as you will want to read up on the real life family it portrays.

My brother in law cried 3 times during it, and i have to admit twice i struggled to remain composed. And at one point I went all hot and sweaty like you do just as you are about to faint.
