My daughter has bought a film off t'internet, but it won't play in this region(Yorkshire) any way of getting around this????

 

Can't it be copied onto computer and the converted to uk region to play or play via pc?

Try and see if it will play on pc, and use a burn software that changes format.

probably a different region.

either see if your dvd player is multi region or play it on the computer and use anydvd to make it play region free on the computer.

 

download the media player (on p.c) that is a little orange cone. sorry i can't remember what it's called but I haven't found a file it won't play.

Are you sure it's a DVD & not a Blu-Ray?
Are you using a DVD player? If so what make & model?(sometimes there are cheats to get around region errors)

Dogs said he bought it off the 'net, didn't bring it from anyway abroad.

 

If you look on the net, you may find an unlock code for your DVD player so you can make it 'region free'. It should then play DVD's from all over the world and not just the UK -region 2 IIRC.

 

 

i know.. but you can still buy other region dvd's off the internet. Use to do it in the past when america got dvd's quicker than the UK and was also cheaper.

 

dvd shrink. recode it and it will play fine. the player with a little cone is vlc.

Worth having a look here for a Firmware update that will make your PC DVD drive Region Free:

then get hold of this software:

http://www.dvdshrink.org/

which will allow you to make a copy of the original disc

Then with a blank DVD-R or DVD-RW disc burn back the region free copy so it can play on any DVD drive.

DVD Shrink uses Nero to burn DVD's s so make sure you have that installed if you want to go the DVD Shrink route.

I think you should try finding a multi region hack for your DVD player first though.

 

just use imageburn to burn if u dont have nero, its free.
