Car Radios
The radio in my old 940 has packed up. I just want something to listen to the news so nothing fancy.
My local garage pal suggested a trip to the local scrap yard but are all radios a standard size and what happens if the second hand radio had a security code?

Most will be standard DIN size.
If it was security coded, ask them if they have it, if not, walk away.
TBH, you can pick up a nice aftermarket one for not much. Our Xantia has a JVC radio CD that will read MP3 discs, cost me all of £79.99.
And took me half an hour to fit as I had to change from Double DIN.
A staright swap could be ten minuter tops.

I'd say go new too, they're so cheap now it's not worth faffing around with 2nd hand, plus the new stuff will be a lot better quality than the one you have now.
