Wet and dry upright vacuum
We have cream carpets and a 16 month old, so even though they were new in March, you can imagine they aren't the cleanest now!
Our Dyson is feeling it's age a bit and i was considering a new decent wet and dry vacuum. I'm not sure however if these are any good at normal hoovering though, as i don't want 2 hoovers to do different jobs iyswim?

I thought the Vaxs were rebadged Bissels (most Vax stuff is rebranded these days...their mach 3 cleaners are sold as Dirt devils in Europe). I've got a Bissel powerwash, does the job, slow work though (no quicker than a Karcher PUzzi or Vax 3 in 1, all of which I've used).
Point to note the Bissel powerwash (and vax versions) are NOT wet AND dry cleaners...its a carpet washer (a wet and dry vac can be used for dry vacuuming as well as wet).
As for the old Dyson, are you sure its working at its best?......maybe its due a service, nothing fantastically complicated, just replace a few wear and tear bits and give it a wash out:
New brush bars aren't expensive, the brush bars on all upright cleaners do wear down and lose their stiffness, so should be replaced. Also filters, not just the washable one, check out the post motor filter - usually hidden under a cover. Again not expensive. Finally the cylone thingies in the dust can....take the whole lot apart and wash it out with the garden hose pipe. dry fully before reassembling.
Anyhoo...cream carpets? what were you thinking man!?

Don't you know it's a womens prerogative in life, so give more work to man in order for the house to look good?
Not wanting spend cash on the Dyson till we've decided what to do. Really dont want 2 vacuums, but its sounding like a possibility unless i find a unit that does both, well.
