Women Bishops ?

To be honest .... why do those women I saw in the Synod all look like men, dress like men and really want to be men??
There are some things women cannot do ....... being a Bishop is clearly one of them.
Us white honsho's cannot be in the Black Lawyers Club, we can't be in the Womens Netball Team, same with the Church of England Club - for women.
Like it or not, it's their Club ....... they don't want dizzy women making serious decisions - let them choose the flowers for the church, or what colour the vestibule should be painted, but not the serious manly stuff!

The Clergy voted yes, it was The Laity that didn't get to the requisite 66% falling just 2% short. Felt very sorry for Dr. Williams and the women within the church who'll be unable to realise their ambitions. It's virtually a dead cert to be passed next time round, but that's as much as ten years away now. It makes the church look illiberal where actually it's not.

Is it because the choir boys would be happy to be sexually abused by them and the male Cafflick priests would be massively disappointed as they have already cornered the market on abusing young boys?

Agree with the decision - I don't subscribe to the view of equality between men and women. It doesn't mean that I have less respect for women, it's just that there can not be true equality between them.
Its a biblical teaching - Christ is head of the "Church", man is head of the woman.

Protestants believe that Jesus was born to a virgin mother, in a stable, and was executed by the Romans, to save us from our sins.
Cathlics believe that Jesus was born to a virgin mother, in a stable, and was executed by the Romans, to save us from our sins.
As you can see, two totally opposing views and that's why the fight over their beliefs and that's why religion in any sort cannot be believed.

Yes the Church did actually overwhemingly vote for women bishops. The 'laity' which is actually made up of public god bothering hand wringers of the worst kind, could not get to grips with it, saying it was heresy, and against the 'writings' of the bible.
Therefore really it was the 'public' who rejected it.... Sort of!

I really dont give a toss about religion but they preach all this stuff about harmony but 50 percent of the population cant do a job in that organisation due to being female, some jobs women cant really do (or more likely, dont want to as it is smelly, heavy, dangerous or dirty) but physical strength isnt an issue, men and women dont differ markedly in intelligence so where is your perceived shortfall that precludes women being Bishops ?

He/she exists if you want them to exist.
It cannot be proven that they exist, but many people gain comfort from believing.
And who is anyone else to say they don't exist - it cannot be proven either way.
It saddens me that people think their God is different to someone else's God.
If we all believed the same, there could be religious peace in our world.
