Fortunately I had my blackberry so apologies for the grainy images but it's not every day you get a chance to go on an aircraft carrier!

I drove the Blue ridge Parkway and I'm sure I've been on that Carrier........BITD 1992 the flight deck had an F4, F8 Crusader, A7 and a Hawkeye.
Must go and dig out my photo's.
There was a submarine there as well to look around, tiny. Down the coast there was a massive battleship as a museum.
The Americans can do a couple of things right

They cleared me once to do an approach and overshoot on USS Forrestal when she was parked by Limassol.
I was in a Canberra B(I)8 which is not that big an aircraft but I have to say that the landing area looked tiny. Thank goodness I was only doing an overshoot. I understood all about "Navy Landings" after that little adventure. You should have heard the sigh of relief from my navigator when he heard the power going back on for the overshoot!
Happy days!
