I really like Kimi, just straight to the point and is only there to race not be a superstar playboy.

Typical Kimi

The thing is though, he 'does' know what he is doing. I can't remember the last time he made a mistake. Although I'm sure someone will be kind enough to remind me!

Kimi had survived 20 laps driving on a heavily flat spotted tyre, but his luck ran out on the last lap. The vibration caused from the flat spotted tyre caused a catastrophic failure of the suspension. He had been informed to pit but decided against it and carried on pushing

So he drove competitively for 20 laps on a flat spotted tyre? And that's a mistake?

Yeah ok.

Find me a proper, braking too late kind of mistake.

He shows some of the signs of having Aspergers (if you consider that a real medical condition). Perhaps that's why he's so good at racing, and so consistant.

I just think he is just very shy and doesn't like being on camera.
Plus he really doesn't take any ****. It is his way, or no way.
May be that's why if didn't work out at Ferrari. (Although it did net him his only World Championship to date).

He doesn't mess about when it comes to buying boats either. He owns a rather tasty Sunseeker named 'MY Iceman'! I only know this because I have supplied spares for the Arneson Surface Drives that it runs.
I did say to my boss that I could hand deliver them to Monaco. Surfice to say we used DHL.

As good a driver as he is,I thought his attitude was pretty bad mannered when his engineer was just trying to help him.

Think he rented it out to punters during the Monaco GP to watch the race from, moored up around the harbour.

I don't think he's bad mannered TBH, just very 'to the point' in everything he says or does.

kimi and his race engineer go way back and have worked together for a very long time which is why he can talk to him how he does... i dont think he would speak to another team member in the same way if he didnt have that relationship with them

Doesn't matter how well he knows his engineer, it still does not excuse such an unnecessarily rude reply to someone who was only trying to help.

Is there no room for good manners any more?

Having been in the Monaco paddock with him in May I can say from experience he is a rude and ignorant man.

His race engineer could see his tyre temps dropping something Kimi couldnt see, so it was a good call. He does seem to have a communication problem.
Sponsors dream?

I was so happy when Kimi won. He was entertaining BUT he drove well and had a clear head.

I found his, and Seb's comments amusing but understood why the toffs got upset as children do watch the race also.

Absolutely agree!

If I was his team manager I'd have given him a serious bolocking for it. No body has manners nowadays and that's not a good trend.
