We are off on holiday in January and the Air France Boeing 777 300ER has the 'shell seats' fitted in premium economy. We have used PE with other airlines, bit more space, leg room, smaller, quieter cabin etc but never with Air France and never with these shell seats.
I keep reading some very mixed views on these seats with 'hard' and 'uncomfortable' featuring rather too frequently, it is an 11 hr overnight flight both ways.
Has anyone been on an aircraft that had this type of seat fitted and what was the experience like? Even been told to take a cushion !

They had them on the Virgin flight to the states when we went in September.
