Thumbs down Osborne - I'm too posh to travel Standard Class!!

So, he sits in First Class with a Standard Class ticket!!

"His aide tells ticket collector he cannot possibly move and sit with the plebs in standard class and requests he is allowed to remain in First Class"

It's about time these Eton Toffs got OFF the sodding train ..... and stayed OFF!!!

He's not done anything that I and many others have not done before, and when the clippy comes round, you just pay the upgrade.
The only thing that gets my goat is that it's me, the taxpayer who's paying for his upgrade, and not himself, as no doubt the difference will be claimed, but all MP's from all parties do it.

None story.

Did he receive a £10 fine?

Me and my mates used to do that as kids and this one time the inspector took our tickets to "inspect" them and then just fooked off with em ... we had to buy another ticket at the journey end

TX.

Can't believe he had the brass neck to pull that one.

I suppose it was lucky that he even paid for a standard class ticket anyway! People like that don't consider that they should actually have to pay for anything most of the time.

Why mention that, unless you are trying to say you are posh (twice removed).

This story has been contrived. It's just a press hatchet job.

Let's discuss serious politics rather that the class based nonsense that appears to be entertaining various newspaper editors right now.

Report on the radio was he was fined £160. MPs are only allowed to claim for a standard ticket these days.

Because you aren't charged with running the country.

I don't want people doing important jobs like this having to worry about stupid things like train tickets

If they act as though there is a definition between us and them they will think like that and run this country in a way that will reflect that. When people in responsibility start acting and appreciating what the people in their care do and what its like then they are far better placed to make executive decisions.

Hardly contrived if that is what actually happened is it? There is enough evidence to support the story.

If people are going to act in such a self important manner then they have to put up with the objections when they get caught out!

G. Osborne doesn't have to buy or sell train tickets for what he is. The guy thinks that he knows it all, and everyone else is beneath him. Chubby-faced poor relations to whatshisname ......Piers Morgan.
