Default Good on Danny Rose

For calling for Serbia to be banned following last nights U21 England match.
""Next thing I know, all the Serbia players were surrounding me, pushing me. I remember getting slapped twice. I got ushered away and that's when I kicked the ball - and then the referee sent me off. "

Bit strange really, I didnt watch the match but from that how the ref can ascertain that Rose was the instigator is a little baffling. To send him off for dissent for kicking the ball away after what looks like a small scale riot is almost laughable.

On the face of it, it is pretty disgraceful.

But in that video there's a few seconds where the management are shaking hands when it all seems to kick off, that we have no idea what happened on the pitch. Serbian players were rushing to try and get at him - perhaps he deliberately did something to p!ss them off, but we can't tell.

Yeah, he had the tenacity to really rub it in when England scored after he suffered 90 minutes of racial and physical abuse.

I'm not saying that he was wrong to do what he did, we just can't tell WHAT he did from that video. If he decapitated a ball boy off camera, I'd say the Serbian's would have a right to feel agrieved! If he flipped the fans the bird, then good on him.

As long as football exists, there will all be racism.

You don't see this sort of behavier in any other sport.

I don't get the appeal and never will.

Default Disgraceful behaviour ...

If it happened in the UK there would be world wide outrage ending in huge bans for the team, players and fans ... wonder if that will happen here

No different than others on here replying to an F1 thread saying it is boring.

Abusive fans in football is not news is it?
It is the culture of fans to throw insults at rival supporters.

You'll be hard pushed to hear any "monkey chanting" at premiership games these days. Quite rightly it disappeared a long time ago ...

You're just regurgitation f1_fan nonsense, you clearly said you're not fan so I don't see why you have a problem with it and deem it comment worthy.

Default Serbian FA say it wasn't racism.....

....so that's all right, then

If it had been here, England would already be banned.

It's all about perspective. Less than a decade ago most Serbians were murdering their neighbours just for going to the wrong church, last night was probably their idea of equality

No? What was all the furore in Spain a couple of years ago then at the F1 practice where Hamilton had racial abuse directed at him?

So your beloved whiter than white F1 is no better than football then

Racial abuse is an eastern European normality and still the European football authorities do nothing.

If this was happening in England it would be world outrage and bans galore.

The Serbs have even put the blame on Danny Rose, still with their track record should we have expected any different?

Ok, that's one isolated incident, how many has football had?

You can't even compare the two TBH.

As shocking as it may sound I agree with everything you say. The Serbs need bringing to task over this. They need the book throwing at them.

I'm old enough to remember going to football matches in the 1950's 60's and 70's in this country ..... whilst I cannot remember racial abuse, I can remember violence and disgraceful behaviour - it was common, although never happened to me, to feel a warm feeling down the back of your legs, only to find that the 'supporter' behind had just pi55ed himself!!

A good friend of mine who is now in his seventies used to go to all the Leeds United home games in his younger days. He had some escapades! Spat on, p!ssed on and on occasion chased by rival gangs of supporters. As you say it was commonplace.
