How to Start Mass Civil Unrest in SA
South Africa
Select a riot and shoot 30 odd rioters.
Lock up all 200 of the rioters and charge them with murdering their friends ignoring the incidental detail that they were actually shot by the police.
And, as icing on the cake, use a law that was designed for the apartheid era.
Result predicted - mass demonstrations and more death.

SA is a mess. They basically swapped one corrupt white elite for a corrupt black one.
As a measure of the cynicism did anyone see the police news conference after the shootings? It was all black police women lol, but the police doing the shooting were a mixture of black and white police men.

The police didn't just randomly open fire, the day before two police were murder by the miners, then the next day the ones who got shot charged the police, theres videos on youtube showing when police opend fire and you can see the miners charging at them, they also were found to have machettes and other weapons on them.
Grpahic vids
as the description says, at 1min int he vid some of the weapons are seen being piled up,
15 second in you can see them rushing police.

the press are so way off with whats going on, thats whats funny. Mate of mine lives out there in the area and was telling us exactly what was going on, while the murder charges for the miners are way off but happening, the events that preceded it are completly off target as far as how the press have reported them.

I am not denying it was a very nasty situation but my post was an exact reflection on what is going on now.
I made no comment about the police action but it's perhaps worth noting that there were not enough police, no riot shields, no water cannons, tear gas?, and they look pretty disorganised and I would guess scared stiff.
But locking up all the rioters and charging them all with murder (even if that decision is rescinded) is asking for trouble, IMHO.

South Africa got screwed by the IMF at the rebirth of the country after apartheid, their economy had no chance after the IMF scumbags ripped them apart. As for the police, if you get charged by a violent baying mob you have to open fire or they would have been ripped apart, sad fact of life but what else could they do ?

Did those jungle drums mention this, taken from press reports?
"In a separate development, the country's independent police watchdog has refused to comment on reports citing leaked details of post-mortem examinations suggesting miners were shot in the back."
Whilst I understand the police response it does seem a rather inept way of dealing with a riot. Other countries have heavyweight riots which are quelled without resorting to mass shootings.
