Is there a leak under my floor ?
We have oak wooden flooring in all downstairs rooms except the kitchen (tiles)
Yesterday I noticed that the door to my study was catching on the flooring, something I am sure never happened before. I checked the door to make sure it hadn't dropped and it hasn't.
So I start to do a bit of detective work. The games room next to the study has the same flooring and in the middle the flooring seems a little "spongy" - when you press down on it with your foot it bends. Now this is under a pool table, which has been there a year and was put in almost the day we moved in, so it may have been like that before.
My thinking is a possible water leak under the floor and its buckling the flooring - but without calling someone out is there anything I can do to test it ? Moisture detector maybe to see if there is high moisture under the floor ?
Any help appreciated.

Time to check your gutters. Do you have a flat roof by any chance?
Its amzaing how water leaking in the roof ends up under the floor without visble signs on the ceiling/walls. Also bear in mind its not just the presence of water that can cause wood to warp...the presence of excessive humidity can do it as well.
Moisture/damp detector is probably the way to go though
