I reckon it would look a lot more striking if it was in brilliant light-reflecting chrome!
Not this Blackpool Tower red! lol

Sorry,it's just a mess.Not impressed.
An absolute piece of sh*t that the sponsers want you to pay £15 to climb.
It will be a fitting monument to the wasteland that will be the olympic park shortly after the event.

It was largely funded by the richest man in the country - some dude that's made his fortune in
steel (ironically)...
ArcelorMittal_Orbit
"The project is expected to cost £19.1 million, with £16 million coming from Britain's richest man, the steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman of the ArcelorMittal steel company, and the balance of £3.1 million coming from the London Development Agency. The official name of the sculpture, "ArcelorMittal Orbit", combines the name of Mittal's company, as chief sponsor, with "Orbit", the original working title of Kapoor and Balmond's design."
...I'm guessing the £3.1M 'shortfall' (or whatever the final difference will be) will be recouped by the paying public(?)

I voted 'love it'. I mean it's a right load of crap really, but if it makes London more of a **** up than it already is that will do for me.
