Think you ned to read the link lads, this isn't just about speeding, but extending it to careless driving, passing on the nearside, taligating or even braking suddenly. It is also about making it easier (less paperwork) for the police to issue tickets.
What better way to rasie some more money for the politicians''s fraudulent expense claims to be paid out than to make ticket issuing easy and include a raft of very subjective offences in the list for which a ticket can be issued.
I believe it is also soon to be extended to wearing a loud shirt in a built up area, loitering with inetnet to use a zebra crossing and being in possession of an ugly wife*

Please can they make the fine £1,000 for driving in the third lane of a four lane motorway, when one, if not two lanes to their left are free. Either that or a firing squad.
Personally i don't see why £90 is a bad idea, especially if it could be proved that the revenue went into the roads. Mobile phone use ought to be £150 in my opinion, and texting personally i'd make it £500 and an automatic ban.

There are many ways to look at this, whether it's comparing it to inflation and showing that it's a large hike in cost. Or the fact that it shouldn't really matter because unless you go out and get fined regularly it shouldn't effect you.
Personally I don't have a problem with it. If you don't break the law then you don't get fined. No problem.

Being in posession of an ugly wife is punishment enough in itself, shirely?
But there is a high almost certain probability of a ban too (unless they decided to ignore that too!) I hate un insured drivers !
Firstly, it says "motoring fines may rise to £90".
Second, it says "Ministers are seeking views from the public on the proposals, which would apply to England, Scotland and Wales, before deciding whether to pursue them."
To sum up then, if you were really bothered, your time in launching this thread would have been far better spent in putting forward your views on the consultation website, and encouraging the rest of us to do the same.
Sermon over, amen

ps
Personally I look forward to the day where d!ckheads who sit up my @rse on the motorway or other roads when I'm already driving as fast as conditions allow get stung in the pocket for their exceptional moronicness.
Ah so you do ...

Sermon, more like a wet behind the ears fifth former's essay
Just saying
