Default Thoughts on the Olympics

Just curious..

I work in Leyton, and it will be a pain during the Olympics to get to and from work..also our customers are all over London..

So personally not looking forward to the Olympics..

I'm intrigued on 'how well' we'll do the opening and closing ceremonies.

Well I am glad I don't live in London any more. So I'll enjoy the games on the TV. The paralympics I find boring. dl

Couldn't give two hoots really, live miles away from where any of it is happening so won't be affected. Find most of the events pretty boring but there may be one or two I'll check out on TV.

I'll be affected by it. Travel to work will be a nightmare so not looking forward to it at all. I would have left the country if I could but all my colleagues had the same idea so I couldn't get the annual leave

I won't be affected and the wife would be working in canary warf but they have said she can work from home for the Entire time! ...

Personally I don't think Britain should have bothered... The money it's costing... Will it pay out in the end?

Complete waste of money.

It should always be held in Greece where it started then there's no need for anyone else to waste billions every 4 years building white elephants.

And you just know that several of the gold medallists will be found to have been taking illegal drugs a year or two down the line and their titles will be stripped from them.

I'll be affected be the Games. Taking the 2 weeks off, going to see 2 days worth of events...cannot wait. This is the biggest and best thing to happen to this country in a very long time.

Counting the hours...

I have always felt that a Eurolympics would have been a better idea. Say the games split between half a dozen countries using existing facilities and using the weather as a guide as well. Splits the cost and helps Europe economically including GB. dl

That would mean changing one of the fundamentals of the Games.

They are based upon a City, not a country, and certainly not a collection of countries.

cant wait for it to be over. Work is 3 miles away from stratford, have to use the A13 to get home straight past official olympic routes. oh its gonna be fun. A few people said just shut for a few weeks. How can i shut the business for 2 weeks? Customers will go elsewhere as we do instant turnaround items.
Having spoken to several couriers that come in they are working nights, Wont be delivering to us tho as doubt the locals will take kindly to manufacturing noise all night.

Olympics is a way to remind the rest of us that the corporate bigwigs are much more important than everyone else. It has become so far removed from what it should be its meaningless. I hope a series of bomb scares throw it into chaos and the CEO of coke dies of a heartattack during the opening ceremony.

My thoughts on the olympics 2012.If it were happening in any other country apart from the UK,well London,I'd be up for it..No actually,if it were happening in or around the centre region of the UK so everyone can feel part of it,i'd be more up for it.But as always it has to go to London, all the way down in the south east corner of the country, and a commuting nightmare.
And i see the Taekwondo have already set the ball rolling of sport politics, typical of this Country..

I can't understand how the opening and closing ceremonies can be of any significant importance compared to the Games themselves!
