Default how do I check ownership of a parking space?

as the title suggests, I have recieved a letter asking me to stop using a space on my street that I was assured was for communal use.

Im not planning on stopping using it unless I have to, so would like to know for definate if it is owned by someone as suggested or is a free parking space.

Any help appreciated

Have you been given reason for not using the space? Who is the letter from? Can you reply to it asking for legal reason why you should not use the space which you were told was communal?

Will it not be in the deeds? I bought a new build, so when I got the deeds and relevant paperwork, I had the plans of all the plots and who's space was who's!?!

If it's freehold it will be on deeds if it is owned by another property. If you know the address that is claiming to own it you can get a title plan from Land Registry for £4 to prove or disprove the claim.

I had the reverse situation about 20 years ago - I had paid for two allocated parking spaces and my deeds confirmed this, but everyone else on the development had been told one of them was a communal space.

If it's leasehold then you probably need to talk to the managing agent or the freeholder.
